Police chase that started at Atmore prison ends in crash in Chickasaw
CHICKASAW, Ala. (WPMI) — Three suspects are in custody after leading police on a chase that started at Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore and ended in a crash roughly 50 miles away in Chickasaw Friday morning. The Alabama Department of Corrections says a K-9 officer found Justin Duckworth trying to get contraband into prison. ADOC says Duckworth, Jajuan Williams and Amber Shields were all in the car that wouldn't stop for police. They wrecked near the 1-65 southbound ramp and West Lee Street.

Authorities investigating circumstances of Elberta High School senior’s death
Baldwin County authorities are investigating the circumstances behind the death of a 17-year-old high school senior whose body was recovered Friday from a creek. The teenager was identified by Elberta Mayor Jim Hamby and high school football coach Nathan McDaniel as Avery Pickle. He was last seen swimming in Palmetto Creek on Thursday. First responders, search and rescue, and volunteers conducted searches throughout the area, which resulted in the body being discovered, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Foley man faces drug trafficking charges
FOLEY, Ala. (WALA) - A Foley man faces three separate drug distribution charges after police say they found large quantities of illegal drugs in his possession. Daniel Wilson, 37, is being held in the Baldwin County Corrections Center without bond after investigators say they found spice, methamphetamine and fentanyl in his car.
