DCCA announces MCT’s Pied Piper cast
GREENVILLE — Darke County Center for the Arts presentation of Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of The Pied Piper on Saturday, July 20 will star 32 local youngsters who on Monday, July 15 auditioned for and won parts in the musical. Tour actor/directors Skyla Conger and Eric Schutt announced the role assignments immediately following the fun-filled but intense auditions.

It’s time to Stuff a Bus
GREENVILLE — The Darke County United Way is once again having its annual Stuff A Bus school supply drive to collect school supplies and distribute them to all Darke County school districts for students in need. Items needed include: paper (wide and college-ruled), composition books, #2 pencils, blue and black pens, erasers, rulers, glue sticks, safety scissors, markers, washable markers, highlighters, post it notes, crayons in 16 or 24 packs, single subject notebooks, colored pencils, pocket folders, calculators, pencil sharpeners, pencil pouches/boxes, dry erase markers, backpacks, lunch boxes, ziplock bags, tissues, and/or antibacterial wipes.
Summer Kindergarten Immunization Clinic
The Darke County General Health District will be hosting a Saturday Immunization Clinic for incoming kindergarteners. Beat the rush this fall and take advantage of this opportunity to get immunizations completed early. The clinic will be held Saturday, August 3rd from 9am- 12 pm, at our office located at 300 Garst Avenue in Greenville. No appointments are necessary. Please bring your insurance card if insured. As a reminder, our weekly immunization clinic runs on Tuesdays with walk-in hours from 8-10:30 a.m. and 2-5 p.m. For any questions regarding this clinic, please call our office at 937-548-4196 ext. 224.

Fair gazebo gets makeover
GREENVILLE – The Great Darke County Fair gazebo at the entrance to the grounds got a facelift with head groundskeeper Rex Weyrick and fair caretakers putting in the work. “Our head caretaker, Rex Weyrick, took on the gazebo and spruced it up,” said fair secretary Laura Ahrens. “Rex and his crew did a nice paint job, cleaned out the mulch, and put some river rock around the bed. It gave it a nice look, and we hope everybody enjoys it.”
