Photographer Julia Wiese said that on Saturday, July 6, “the ferry Puyallup kept blowing its horn at what we assumed was a boat about to cross its path as it headed into Edmonds. That craft stopped and went behind the Puyallup. Soon thereafter, the Puyallup came to a stop and we noticed a bunch of people on the front of the ship. So we thought it might be one of those burials at sea.” She then learned from a neighbor that there were orcas in front of the Port of Edmonds Marina.

Federal Way Police officers shoot armed domestic violence suspect
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - An armed domestic violence suspect was shot and injured by two Federal Way Police officers after trying to break into an apartment Sunday morning. The Federal Way Police Department says officers were dispatched at around 5:45 a.m. to the Kitts Corner Apartments, located 1201 S. 336th Street, for reports of a shooting and domestic violence incident.
Update: City of Mountlake Terrace postpones plan to take permit portal offline
A plan by the City of Mountlake Terrace to take its permit portal offline during a software transition this week has been postponed. According to the city, the portal outage will be rescheduled for a later date.
