After opening its first location in Troy Guard's Grange Hall in Greenwood Village, San Diego's favorite fried chicken spot The Crack Shack will be opening a second location in RiNo at 2801 Walnut Street. According to The Denver Post, The Crack Shack plans to open its standalone location in August 2022, next door to RiNo's Stem Ciders and the soon-to-open RevZilla.

While The Crack Shack's first Colorado location is one of many stalls inside Guard's brand new food hall, this second Colorado location will be a 3,800 square-foot space and open next to a brand new Via 313 Pizzeria, a Detroit-style pizza restaurant from Austin that'll be opening its first Colorado location. The Crack Shack has multiple locations in Southern California and Las Vegas, but Colorado looks to be its next major area of expansion.

Via 313 currently serves up its pizza at its multiple Texas and Utah locations, but its expansion into Denver is another sign that the Colorado quick serve food scene is continuing to evolve with many beloved, formerly local, chains coming to the state this decade.

In addition to these restaurants, Colorado has recently seen the arrival of In-N-Out, Shake Shack, The Halal Guys, Capriotti's, and even will welcome the return of Whataburger in Colorado Springs, with more locations to come.

The parent company of the two restaurants, which also owns R&R BBQ inside Edgewater Public Market, said that they hope to open at least three other locations of both The Crack Shack and Via 313 in the Denver area soon.

Now that the leases are signed and the restaurants are being designed by local architect John Craig, Denver fried chicken and pizza lovers will have these Southern California and Texas favorites to look forward to next summer.
