The Freight House Farmers Market is moving the show a few more blocks away from the riverfront this weekend.

The Mississippi River’s rising levels are forcing vendors, food trucks and entertainment to move to the Scott County Administration Building parking lot, 600 W. Fourth Street in Davenport, for the Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7 markets. The markets will have their normal operating hours of 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday. The market will return to the Freight House once the flood waters recede. The move was on the Davenport City Council’s agenda for their meeting last night and was expected to pass.

Nearly 200 vendors from across Iowa and Illinois are part of the market, selling locally produced fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat, cheese, herbs, flowers, plants, honey, wine, hand-crafted items, ready-to-eat foods, and more. Live entertainment from Common Chord keeps the upbeat vibe going.
