Small business in Milan was burglarized overnight, man later arrested
MILAN, Ill. — Police in Milan have apprehended a suspect in a local burglary. 40-year-old Patrick Poff was arrested on Thursday, July 25 on one count of burglary. Officials were called earlier that day around 8:40 a.m. to Finn's Fun Spot in Milan. The night before an employee had forgotten to lock the door, allowing the suspect to enter the business and steal an unspecified amount of cash and electronics.

AMERICAN Pickers star Frank Fritz has been relying on “skilled nursing care” that will be “long-term” two years after he suffered a debilitating stroke. Frank, 60, has been under a conservatorship and guardianship since he suffered a stroke at his Le Claire, Iowa home in July 2022, as he has been in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation.
Nonprofit Transforms Summer Fun Across the Region with New Aquatics Center in Aledo
The Looser-Flake Foundation has committed $250,000 over the next five years to the Aledo Park District to support the construction of the Aledo Aquatics Center. The Mercer County Family YMCA will manage and staff the new facility. The aquatics center will be an accessible and affordable community resource located in Aledo at the old Farmer’s Grain and Coal property. The aquatic center includes a bathhouse, zero-depth pool, diving board, splash pad with mini-slides, and more in addition to the 40,000-square-foot pool.

Heartlanders extend affiliation with Minnesota Wild
CORALVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) - The Iowa Heartlanders on Friday announced a three-year affiliation extension with the NHL’s Minnesota Wild. Under the affiliation agreement, the Heartlanders will continue to serve as a resource for the development efforts and personnel needs of both the Iowa Wild and Minnesota Wild. The agreement allows Wild prospects to be assigned to the Heartlanders for developmental purposes throughout the season.

Davenport Iowa Man Arrested in Grant County for Operating while Intoxicated
At around 9:00 pm on 7/21/24, Grant County Dispatch received a 911 call about a three-vehicle crash located south of the City of Boscobel. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene and identified Frank M. Klee, a 55-year-old from Davenport, IA, as the driver who lost control of his vehicle and collided with a guardrail. This caused his vehicle to block traffic, resulting in two other vehicles, a 2023 Honda driven by Jordan Powers and a 2013 Dodge Caravan driven by Grace Ideker, to collide and sustain significant damage while trying to avoid the blockage.
