    Two people who died in helicopter crash near Davenport identified

    DAVENPORT, Wash. - The Lincoln County Coroner's Office has identified two people killed in a helicopter crash near Davenport on Wednesday.

    68-year-old Ryan Sandvig of Spokane and 63-year-old Mark Manteuffel of Coeur D'Alene were killed when their helicopter went down north of Bluestem Road on WA-28 in between Davenport and Harrington on June 19.

    According to cdaflightmedicine.com, Dr. Mark Manteuffel served as a Senior Aeromedical Examiner in Kootenai County since 1995 and was a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force.

    According to Lincoln County Fire District 6, when the helicopter crashed, the Chief said a small fire burned about an acre but has been 100% contained.

    No other injuries were reported.

    The crash is under investigation by NTSB and FAA.
