Track and Field earns USTFCCCA academic honors
NEW ORLEANS, La. — The academic success continued for Eastern Washington track and field this offseason as the program earned honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Eastern's men's and women's teams both earned USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors. Three Eagles earned All-Academic athlete honors, with the group consisting of Caitlin Simmons, Kimberly Smith and Lucas Couron.

Suspect arrested three times over two days in Union County
UNION COUNTY — A Spokane Valley man has been arrested following a series of incidents involving trespassing and vehicle theft in Union County. George Wayne Brooks, 51, was first arrested on July 9, after unlawfully entering the Oregon Department of Transportation weigh station building near milepost 258 on I-84 eastbound. According to Oregon State Trooper Eric Madsen, Brooks was taken into custody and lodged at Union County Jail on a charge of Criminal Trespassing II.

Boise, ID (CBS2) — A Mexican man has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine in Nampa, Idaho. According to U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit, 49-year-old Sergio Cisneros-Guzman also known as Salomon Hernandez Medina, a Mexican citizen who is residing in Nampa illegally, was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison after an investigation led by the FBI-led Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crimes Task Force was found to be trafficking large amounts of methamphetamine and firearms through his landscaping business Rolling Hills Nursery.
