Domestic Airline Price Fixing Settlement - You may be owed a refund if you flew these major airlines

    2024-06-06

There's nothing like an opportunity to put some of your hard earned cash back into your pocket. Those times don't come often, so when they do it's best to take advantage.

If you've flown domestic flights is the past decade, this might be one of those times for you. It all stems back to a price fixing lawsuit that was filed against four major airline operators in the USA. The affected airlines are American, United, Delta, and Southwest. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants did engage in price fixing using both collusion and monopolization to increase fares by intentionally artificially limiting capacity on domestic flights. This conduct lead to intentional price gouging of their domestic flight customers. Both Southwest and American Airlines have agreed to a settlement amount of over $60 million dollars. Lawsuits against both United and Delta are still pending.

    WHO IS AFFECTED?

Anyone who flew on Southwest between July 1, 2011 and December 20, 2017 or anyone who flew on American between July 1, 2011 and June 14, 2018. Only domestic flights are applicable, if you flew on a predecessor or affiliate like US Airways or Continental you may still be eligible. Both United and Delta have denied all alegations against them and litigation is still pending so details for affected United and Delta customers is not available yet.

Settlement funds from Southwest and American are being held in Escrow until resolution of the litigation against United and Delta. Claims may not be filed until a resolution is finalized between all affected parties. If you feel that you may be eligible, you can sign up to be contacted when the resolution is final here.
