Nucor expanding Lexington manufacturing presence with rebar plant
A Nucor Corp. affiliate announced Tuesday it is adding to the manufacturer’s Davidson County presence with a $20 million rebar fabrication facility in Lexington. Charlotte-based Nucor is North America’s largest recycler, using scrap steel as its primary raw material. Nucor Rebar Fabrication specializes in fabricating concrete reinforcing steel, along with installation and distribution.
Greensboro woman charged with felony abduction of child
Authorities arrested a Greensboro woman Friday who they allege abducted a child, according to a news release from the Davidson County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were sent to Beaver Lodge Lane in Davidson County after they received reports that a juvenile had been taken. The deputies enlisted the Criminal Investigations Division of the sheriff's office to assist in the case and arrested Ashley Pyrtle, 33, whom they charged with one felony count of abducting a child.
Woman accused of abducting young girl on Friday
DAVIDSON COUNTY – A Greensboro woman has been arrested and accused of abducting an 11-year-old girl from Davidson County on Friday. Ashley Pyrtle, 33, of Greensboro is charged with one count of felony abduction of a child. She was being held at the Davidson County Detention Center with no bond allowed.
