Lindsay Gresham Boeko Griffin died August 7, 2024 in her Nashville home.

Lindsay was the daughter of Robert Stephen Gresham and Martha Boyd Gresham. She was born March 14, 1971 in Richmond, Virginia. Lindsay grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she graduated from Greensboro Day School and later from University of North Carolina.

Lindsay was a dedicated educator for over 20 years in the Guilford County and Nashville City public schools. Nothing brought Lindsay more pride and joy than helping her students reach their true potential, not just in school but in all aspects of their lives. Most recently, Lindsay taught at Madison Middle School and Haynes Middle School in Nashville.

Lindsay was also an accomplished artist. A true aesthete, Lindsay’s creativity was evident not just in her artwork, but also in her personal sense of style, her beautifully decorated home, and her love of literature, cinema, arts and music. Lindsay’s passion for both her students and art was on full display in 2018 when the “O” Gallery in Nashville featured Lindsay’s exhibit, entitled “Take a Knee: Protecting Our Black Sons from Police,” a collection of portraits of 26 of her former students reflecting the vulnerable faces of African-American youth.

Lindsay was devoted to her middle school kids, her friends and family, dogs (especially Teddy), good books (which she loved sharing with her friends and family), and walking in nature in Tennessee and the Carolinas.

Lindsay is survived by her husband, Mark Griffin, mother Martha G. Boone and stepfather Dan Boone. She is also survived by her sister Lee G. Sullivan, brother-in-law, Michael Sullivan, and niece and nephew, Evelyn and Peter Sullivan.

Lindsay was preceded in death by her son, Davis Boeko, and her father, Robert Stephen Gresham. Lindsay leaves behind many beloved friends, relatives, colleagues and former and present students.

A private family service will be held at a later date at her family cemetery in Virginia.

Lindsay would be pleased if friends and family helped a middle schooler succeed. Memorial gifts could be directed to the Madison Middle School in Nashville.
