Dorothy ‘Dot’ Logan Sanders, was born on June 15, 1930, in Lincoln County, TN. She passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Logan; her children, Vicki Sanders Atnip and Robert Mark Sanders; her brothers, Rutledge, Walter, James, Fred, Joe, and Wayland Logan; and her sisters, Virginia McClellan, Marjorie Shelton, and Betty Throneberry.

Dot is survived by her sister, Nancy Holman (C.A.); her son, Brian Sanders (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Erick Innis (Ashton), Logan Kerr (Bryan), Grant Sanders (Lindsey), and Gracen Sanders; and her great-grandchildren, Briti and Mary Innis, and Anderson and Eliza Kerr.

Dot was a vibrant personality with a sense of humor like no other. She was a devout Christian with an ability to recite much of the Bible with ease. Her straightforward, yet humorous approach to life made everyone around her feel at ease and often left them laughing.

Dot found joy in teaching Kindergarten at Hermitage Church of Christ, where her students cherished their time with her. She also served as a docent at The Home of Andrew Jackson and retired from Ed’s Supply in Nashville after more than 20 years. Dot’s quick wit and kind heart endeared her to everyone who knew her, and she had a unique way of “telling it like it is” that only she could pull off.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. We love you, Dot, and we’ll miss you, “you old heifer!”

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Loftis officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel.

Arrangements by Bond Memorial Chapel, 1098 Weston Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN. (615) 773-2663, www.bondmemorial.com
