Keokuk errors help Mustangs escape with victory
The Mustang baseball team was able to outlast Keokuk in a 10-9 victory on the road on July 5. Davis County celebrated the holiday with 12 hits against the Keokuk pitching. Duke Scott led the way for Davis County with three of those hits. Scott has been sidelined this season with a torn labrum. Scott returned to action last week with restrictions of not being able to throw a baseball, but Scott could contribute with his hitting. He has done just that and had the best game of his season with three hits over the Chiefs.
Mustangs lose to Washington, face Pella Tuesday
The Mustang boys' baseball team suffered a 4-2 loss to Washington Monday night. Davis County travels to Pella Tuesday for its final game of the regular season. Action begins at 5:30 p.m. with the JV game. The varsity game will follow.

The Mustang baseball team picked up a big win over the Warriors of Van Buren on June 26. The Mustangs were coming off a two-game loss to Chariton early last week and were looking to rebound from that. Davis County made it happen with a 14-6 win over the Warriors in non-conference play.
