Fire restrictions put in place for 9 northern Utah counties beginning July 1
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Fire restrictions will be implemented in nine northern Utah counties beginning July 1. Officials with the Utah Department of Natural Resources announced Sunday that "all unincorporated Private and State lands in Box Elder, Cache, Rich, Weber, Tooele, Utah, Salt Lake, Davis, & Morgan Counties" will be placed under stage one fire restrictions.
Roy man sent to prison for shooting a woman in the face during road rage incident
FARMINGTON — A man who shot a woman in the face while driving on I-15 in Davis County was sentenced to nine years to life in prison. Daniel Cortez Bodon, 35, of Roy, was found guilty of attempted murder and two counts of discharge of a firearm on April 16. He was sentenced Monday to four years to life in prison for the attempted murder charge and “an indeterminate term of not less than five years” for the first-degree felony discharge of a firearm, plus three to five years for the third-degree felony discharge of a firearm.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Smoke could be seen for miles in Salt Lake and Davis counties after a large barn caught fire and burned through several large bales of hay. The fire broke out Friday before 10 a.m. in a remote area near 3200 West and 3300 North, north of the Salt Lake City International Airport and close to the border between the two counties.
