Ford F-150 rear ends Hyundai, Tesla in Davis Junction, no injuries reported

DAVIS JUNCTION, Ill. (WTVO) — The driver of a Ford F-150 was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after causing a multi-car crash on Illinois Route 72 on Wednesday.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened in the 13500 block of E. Illinois Route 72 around 7:48 p.m.

Police said the driver of the F-150 pickup, Mary Burriell, 35, of Rochelle, struck the rear of a Hyundai Ioniq, driven by a 75 year old Winnebago man, which then struck the rear of a Tesla, driven by a 48-year-old Rockford man.

Police said three juvenile passengers were in the pickup; three juveniles and an adult were passengers in the Ioniq; and one juvenile was a passenger in the Tesla.

All occupants were assessed by medical personnel and refused treatment, police said.
