West Nile Virus detected in neighboring counties
SIDNEY — Four counties in Montana, including two neighboring counties to Richland County, have reported that West Nile Virus has been detected in tested mosquito pools. A statement issued by the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services on Monday said that six mosquito pools in Blaine, Dawson, Prairie, and Wibaux counties tested positive for the virus.
Leveling the playing field for rec department users: Glendive officials explore special parks and recreation district amid budget shortfall
Amidst talks of having to drastically change the City of Glendive’s budget in order to keep providing the recreation department as a service to the community, city officials are encouraging citizens to consider promoting the establishment of a special parks and recreation district. The special district could ultimately shift funding local recreation from only residents of the city to all of Dawson County.
