City of Cozad files disaster declaration after hailstorm
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Dawson County residents are still grappling with the aftermath of a weekend hailstorm that caused widespread destruction. The Cozad Development Corporation (CDC) announced that the city has submitted paperwork to designate the storm as a disaster. Meetings with state officials are scheduled to secure necessary assistance for those affected.

During that time, baseball-sized hail and wind caused extensive damage to Cozad, with a lesser amount of damage caused to Gothenburg.
