HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has resumed paving operations on U.S. 62, also known as East Arcadia Avenue, in Dawson Springs this week.

The KYTC says the project will widen U.S. 62 from the Dawson Springs Board of Education to the Dawson Springs City Park. The new layout will include two drive lanes and a turning lane. It will also add new gutters, curbs and sidewalks through the project area. The planned completion date of the project is the end of May 2025.

KYTC’s high water report for July 17, 2024

Officials say appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers and personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. Motorists should anticipate lane restrictions and delays while work is being performed, as well as increased truck traffic along U.S. 62 in Dawson Springs.
