DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A West Carrollton man had learned his sentence after a vicious and deadly machete attack in Dayton.

Daniel Anderson will spend 15 years to life behind bars for an incident that violently killed a man.

In July 2022, prosecutors say Anderson repeatedly hacked at a man’s head with a machete before running him over with a vehicle.

This happened at the Deeds Point Dog Park in Dayton. Anderson told police he had smoked meth with the victim — 49-year-old Daniel Thomas — who Anderson claimed made threats against his family.

A judge found Anderson guilty following a two-day bench trial last month.
