‘Significant milestone:’ The Butterfly Room opens at Berry Women’s Center

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A new addition at Miami Valley Hospital is now open.

According to Premier Health, the Butterfly Room has opened at the Berry Women’s Center has opened. The room is specialized for grieving families who may be facing the death of their infant.

Premier Health says no parent should go through something like losing a child alone.

Materials are placed inside of the room for parents to cherish the time left with their child, according to Premier.

“The opening of the Butterfly Room represents a profound step forward in how we support families experiencing the devastating loss of a child,” said Beth Hutter, vice president of the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to our community and generous donors whose support has made this space possible.”
