DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Local residents will see a levy to help fund the Dayton Metro Library on their November ballot.

When voters head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 5, voters in Montgomery County will vote to either pass or fail the levy. According to DML, the organization is asking voters to approve a proposed 5-year, 1-mil levy. If approved, the owner of a $100,000 property value home would pay 67 cents per week.

DML claims the organization hasn’t asked for an additional operating levy for 15 years, and is important that the levy passes. If it does not, Jeffrey Trzeciak, executive director of Dayton Metro Library says materials, positions and more would be impacted.

“Without new funding, cuts will reduce Library programs, technology, digital access, books and
materials, Library Branch hours of service, and staff,” said Trzeciak.

DML provides activities, books, internet access, resources for job searches and more to the Dayton area.
