    UPDATE: University systems outage restore amid global outage

    UPDATE @ 12:51 p.m.

    The IT issues at the University of Dayton caused by a global outage have been restored.

    The university sent an alert at 12:41 p.m. saying that the “emergent IT outage” was restored and that isolated fixes were ongoing.

    UPDATE @ 8:17 a.m.:

    Campus IT systems remain down after global IT outage affects a local university.

    The University of Dayton sent out an alert at 8:04 a.m. updating staff and students on the outage.

    Campus IT systems remain down and UDit is working to restore them.

    UD phones and card access are operating, according to the message.

    “Report to work as usual, and more information will be forthcoming,” the University said.

    INITIAL REPORT:

    A global IT outage is affecting a local university’s systems.

    Around 4:50 a.m. the University of Dayton notified staff and students that a global IT outage was affecting some campus-wide systems.

    The widespread Microsoft outage was reported last night and has affected flights, banks, media outlets and companies around the world, The AP reported.

    The University of Dayton also said that the proper authorities have been notified and they are troubleshooting the issue.
