Paris Olympics are here! What about ‘Jeopardy!’ and 2 NEWS newscasts?

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — While early soccer and rugby matches have already started, the Paris 2024 Olympics won’t really kick into gear until this Friday.

Needless to say, what you see here on WDTN/2 NEWS will be affected by the Olympics from July 26-Aug. 11.

How so?

‘Jeopardy!’ is moving

Starting Friday, July 26, ‘Jeopardy!’ is shifting a half hour earlier, from its usual 7:30 p.m. time slot to 7 p.m. instead. It will return to its nomal time on Monday, Aug. 12.

WDTN/2 NEWS TV schedule Monday through Friday

• ‘2 NEWS Today’ from 4:30-9 a.m. remains untouched, airing as normal.
• ‘Living Dayton,’ usually seen from noon-1 p.m., will be pre-empted starting Friday, July 26 (for the Opening Ceremony). It will return Monday, Aug. 12.
• ‘First at 4’ (4-5 p.m.) and ‘2 NEWS at 5’ (5-6 p.m.) will both be pre-empted starting Friday, July 26. They, too, will return Monday, Aug. 12.
• ‘2 NEWS at 6’ (6-6:30 p.m.) airs as normal.
• ‘2 NEWS at 10 on Dayton’s CW’ (10-11p) airs as normal as that is on Dayton’s CW, not an NBC affiliate.
• ‘2 NEWS at 11’ (11-11:30 p.m.) will usually air at its normal slot. However, live coverage of surfing from Tahiti — still technically France — on July 26 and 30 will push the start time for 2 NEWS to 11:30 p.m.

WDTN/2 NEWS TV schedule Saturday and Sunday

• ‘2 NEWS Today Weekend’ will be completely pre-empted the first weekend (July 27-28) and the Saturday (Aug. 3) of the second. For that Sunday and the following weekend (Aug. 4, Aug. 10-11) the 6 a.m. newscast will end an hour earlier, at 7 a.m. instead of its usual 8 a.m.
• ‘2 NEWS at 6 Weekend’ (6-6:30 p.m.) will air as normal…
• …as will ‘2 NEWS at 10 on Dayton’s CW’ (10-10:30 p.m.)
• On Aug. 3, ‘2 NEWS at 11’ will be delayed half an hour to 11:30 p.m. The other weekend nights, it will air in its usual time slot.
