UD hoodie makes cameo appearance in viral video of whale capsizing a boat

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A family-bonding fishing trip between two brothers turned into an experience they will never forget after witnessing and recording a humpback whale breaching the water and sinking a boat .

Shift your gaze from a truly remarkable natural occurrence, and you’ll see something else equally uncommon: a UD hoodie outside the Miami Valley.

The video was shot by two brothers on a nearby boat who were on their first fishing trip near Odiorne Point State Park in New Hampshire. They just happened to be pointing a phone in the right direction at the right time.

The two men who were on the sunk boat were OK.

Wyatt, the young man in the UD sweatshirt, said he’s actually never been to Dayton. The sweatshirt was a gift from a cousin who attends the school.

“He gave me that shirt, I think, for a birthday present a few years ago,” said Wyatt. “I love wearing it because I wear it around meeting people that go, ‘Oh, you go to Dayton?’ I’m like ‘No, my cousin did,’ but they tell me the stories about how they went to Dayton or something like that.”
