DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A C-47 aircraft from World War II will be on public display this week outside of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

The Commemorative Air Force Central Texas Wing flew a Douglas C-47 Skytrain to Dayton this weekend. “That’s All, Brother” will be on display at Wright Field behind the museum through Wednesday, July 31.

Aircraft crew will be on site to talk with visitors and provide access to the air craft interior from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

“That’s All, Brother” led the main airborne invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. The plane led over 800 other C-47s that dropped more than 13,000 paratroopers into battle.

The aircraft also served in Operations Dragoon, Market Garden, Repulse and Varsity. It has been restored to its 1944 condition, including its D-Day paint scheme along with a thorough historic interior restoration.

The Air Force Museum is located at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base at 1100 Spaatz Street, Dayton. Click here for more information.
