RHEA COUNTY — Plans to open a local chapter of the Boys and Girls Club here in Rhea County are underway.

Chapter President Dustin Henderson said, “I hope this program fills a gap and engages kids who may not have something they are already involved in. I hope it gives them something to do.”

The Boys and Girls Club is a community outreach program that provides affordable after-school and out-of-school care and programs for kids ages 5 to 17.

The organization has scheduled a fundraiser on Friday, April 19, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to support these efforts. The event will take place at the Rustic Farms Venue, located at 200 Hastings Drive in Dayton. Attendees will enjoy dinner catered by Oren Wooden’s and a night of fun and prizes in a ‘Price is Right’-style game night.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward the procurement of the facility, as well as operational costs and supplies for the new local chapter.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at a $100, $500, $1,000, $1,500 and $2,000 level. The purchase of eight-person tables is also available for $350.
