DAYTON — The Dayton Arts League announced that the 49th Annual Strawberry Festival Fine Art Show had the second largest number of Festival-goers in the show’s history voting for their favorite piece of artwork.

A total of 427 people of all ages voted during the three-day show which was only 32 less voters than last year. The League had three new members entering their art in the show for the first time: Jayson Digiantomasso, Linda Frost and Rob Linn.

The winners of the “People’s Choice” voting are: 1st Place: Suzanne Huffman’s acrylic painting titled “Rhapsody;” 2nd Place went to Phyllis Bekemeier’s watercolor called “Walk in the Woods” and 3rd Place was Connie Ocepek’s acrylic work named “Hawaii Surf.”

Coming this summer the Dayton Arts League will have a show at the North River Civic Center in Hixson, Tenn., during July, August and September called “Different Together.”

The league’s “Harvest of Art Show” will follow in October at the Rhea County Welcome Center where the aforementioned artists plus many more members will be displaying and selling their most recent artwork.
