Local Defender awarded Airman's Medal for saving child's life
On Oct. 10th, 2023, Senior Airman Matthew B. West was awarded the Airman’s Medal for his heroic actions of saving a young girl’s life during a dog attack on base, Oct 26, 2022. Modification to 2nd Infantry Division Memorial is underway
Today, in front of the 2ID Memorial, the announcement was made that the 2nd Infantry Division Memorial will be modified to honor those brave warriors of the 2ID who lost their lives in the period of the DMZ War, during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. The 316th Security Forces Squadron military working dog section at Andrews collaborated with the Maryland State Police Aviation Command to familiarize the base’s MWDs with operational aircraft during a training exercise, Oct. 5.
