HAGERSTOWN, Md. ( DC News Now ) — In Western Maryland, Robert W. Johnson Community Center renovations are building excitement in the Jonathan Street neighborhood.

E.J. Fuller is the center’s new executive director. He said the new swimming pool may be the center of attention at the Johnson Center, but he is shaping activities around three main pillars.

“We’re focused on a workforce development program, a health program and a financial literacy program,” said Fuller. “We’re bringing hope to the community. The Center hasn’t been open for a while, and now it’s back open. We’re bringing the pool back. That brings the community together.”
