Walmart vs Giant vs Safeway: DMV grocery price check compared to last week

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — As families continue searching for cost-saving strategies amid higher prices for essentials, DC News Now continues to monitor changes in prices for pantry essentials and popular supermarkets.

At a time when high costs persist, price-checking is proving to be beneficial according to grocery price data we continue to collect.

According to the latest figures from the US. Department of Agriculture (USDA) , the cost to feed two young kids every month is anywhere from $313 to $770, for low-cost meal plans, to higher-cost plans.

A July report from the USDA predicts that grocery prices will rise by 1% during the rest of the year while dining-out costs could increase by 4.3%.
