    Two DC men arrested in assault, robbery investigation in Northeast

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police in D.C. said two men were charged after they were accused of robbing a person at gunpoint in Northeast on Aug. 7.

    According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), just after 1 a.m., the victim told police they were approached by two men in the 4600 block of Burroughs Avenue. That’s when they took out a gun, assaulted the victim and stole their black Nissan.

    18-year-old arrested in connection to series of carjackings in DC

    On Aug. 14, members of the United States Park Police located the Nissan and completed a traffic stop.

    As a result, D.C. detectives arrested 25-year-old Gregory Howard Grooms, of Northeast, and 25-year-old Debon Antonio Thomas, of Southeast. They were charged with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.
