    ‘Rest easy, good boy’: Takoma Park K-9 officer passes away

    TAKOMA PARK, Md. ( DC News Now ) — In a post on Thursday morning, officials said that a Takoma Park K-9 officer passed away.

    The Takoma Park Police Department said that 12-year-old K-9 Kota had passed away.

    He served the community from 2015 until 2021, during which time he had two handlers. Police said that Kota worked with Officer Black and Lt. Muzzatti.

    “Both officers and their families are in our thoughts and prayers. We honor Kota’s work to make his community safe. Rest easy, good boy,” the post said.
