    PGPD: Man in custody after hours-long standoff in Langley Park

    PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Prince George’s County police said a man is in custody after he barricaded himself inside a home in Langley Park on Friday morning.

    The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) said around 2:30 a.m. officers were called to the 8200 block of 17th Ave after shots were fired at a home.

    Police said when officers arrived, they found a family of 12, eight adults and four children, outside the home with the suspect inside. PGPD believed the man fired multiple rounds inside and outside the house.

    “We set up our perimeter and with the great work of the men and women of the Prince George’s County Police Department we were able to apprehend the subject without further incident,” said Katina Gomez, with Deputy Chief of the Bureau of Homeland Security.

    Body found on Washington and Old Dominion Trail in Sterling

    There were no reported injuries.

    Gomez said detectives are working with the community and family to learn what led to the shooting.

    The incident remains under investigation.
