9 people hurt in multi-vehicle crash in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — A multi-vehicle crash hospitalized nine people on I-270 in Montgomery County on Friday evening.

David Pazos, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said just before 6:30 p.m. that crews were in the northbound lanes of the interstate between Clarksburg and Hyattstown.

Six adults and three children were hurt. Pazos said that one of the nine people was sent to a trauma hospital.

N270 was shut down across all lanes as MCFRS worked to clear the scene. As of 6 p.m., delays were about 3.5 miles, according to the Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination (MATOC) Program .
