    Trees knock over power line on River Road in Spotsylvania County

    SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — For more than two hours, multiple trees blocked a portion of River Road and knocked over a power line on Monday morning.

    In a post on X, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said drivers traveling on River Road can expect delays after a tree fell onto the road near Sedgwick and River Down Drive.

    As a result, one lane was closed on River Road.

    As crews worked to remove the trees, Sedgwick and River Down Drive was also closed.

    As of early Monday morning, the road remained blocked off. Those traveling in this area are encouraged to find alternative routes.
