DC man dies in hospital after being hit by pickup truck in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) said it is investigating after a pickup truck hit and killed a man in Capitol Heights on Aug. 14.

According to the police, just before 2:25 p.m., officers responded to the Davey Street and Southern Avenue area after a vehicle struck a person.

During their investigation, police learned that the driver of a pickup truck was attempting to turn onto Davey Street when they hit a person in the roadway.

The pedestrian, identified as 51-year-old Jose Hernandez Salvador, of D.C., was taken to the hospital, where he died days later.

PGPD said the driver of the truck remained at the scene.
