MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Officers arrested one 16-year-old and three 15-year-old boys in connection to a shooting and auto theft that happened Monday, Montgomery County police said.

Just before 5 p.m. on Aug. 19, Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 19200 block of Circle Gate Drive. There, they found multiple shell castings and learned that gunfire had hit two apartments and a car.

    No one was reportedly hurt.

MCPD placed a lookout for the suspect vehicle, a black 2016 Hyundai Accent.

Shortly after, at about 5:33 p.m., officers saw the car in the area of Rothbury Drive and Goshen Road. They determined the car was stolen and initiated a short pursuit.

Two suspects jumped out of the car and ran. The car came to a stop in the 20120 block of Rothbury Lane, where the two other suspects also ran away from the scene.

Later, law enforcement took all four boys into custody.

The 16-year-old was taken to a hospital with minor injuries before being released to his caregivers. Two of the 15-year-olds were taken to the 5th District station and later released to their caregivers. They were all charged with auto theft.

The other 15-year-old suspect, however, was apprehended by a K9, and officers found a loaded gun during a search, according to MCPD. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and charged with possession of a firearm in addition to auto theft.

He was taken to the Department of Juvenile Services.
