    Free performances coming to Fort Dupont Park in DC

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The National Park Service (NPS) is offering chances for free live music this September.

    Officials announced the schedule for this year’s Fort Dupont Park Summer Event Series on Wednesday.

    NPS said that performances will take place at Fort Dupont Park’s amphitheater on F Steet on Sept. 7, 14 and 21. The park’s gates open at 5:30 p.m., and each concert will start at 7 p.m.

    Experience Unlimited featuring Sugar Bear, The Blackbyrds and DJ Lance Reynolds will be performing on Sept. 7. NPS said that the artists for the other two dates would be announced later.

    Officials said that attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets or food. Your furry friends can also partake in the festivities — NPS said that leashed dogs are welcome.

    The following items are not allowed:

    • Alcohol
    • Illegal substances
    • Coolers larger than 29.5” x 16” x 19”
    • Glass bottles
    • Grills and open flames
    • Umbrellas
    • Weapons
