    Crews rescue dog from drowning in Spotsylvania County

    SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Crews from the Spotsylvania County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management rescued a dog that was drowning Wednesday night.

    Officials said a little after 8 p.m., crews responded to the 10700 block of Tealwing Cove/Ni River Reservoir for a “dog in distress” and that its owner was trying to rescue it.

    There, crews saw the dog started to drown. Two swimmers were deployed to the dog, 35 feet from the bank, on a tag line and pulled the dog out of the water, officials said.

    The dog was treated at a veterinary hospital.
