    Motorcyclist killed in crash on Landover Road in Prince George’s County identified

    PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Police said Landover Road was blocked off for several hours following a deadly motorcycle crash in Prince George’s County on Thursday evening.

    The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) said around 7:15 p.m., officers responded to the Landover Road and Holmes Avenue area for a crash involving a motorcycle. There, police learned that a motorcycle and vehicle collided in the southbound lanes of Landover Road.

    Police said the rider was taken to the hospital where he died.

    The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

    In an update of Friday morning, PGPD identified the motorcyclist as 69-year-old Roger Ferguson, of Upper Marlboro.

    As investigators worked on the scene, Landover Road at Route 50 was closed in both directions. The road reopened to traffic around 2:30 a.m. on Friday.

    The investigation was being led by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.
