    MPD searching for man allegedly involved in deadly shooting on Minnesota Avenue

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Detectives in D.C. are searching for a man who was allegedly involved in a shooting that left one person dead over the weekend .

    According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), on Saturday, Aug. 24, just after 5:30 p.m., officers were called to the 3800 block of Minnesota Ave. Northeast, near the Citgo gas station, for a shooting.

    There, police found 49-year-old Michael Simpson, of Northeast D.C. who had been shot.

    Medics took Simpson to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he died a day later.

    During the investigation, detectives obtained surveillance camera video and captured the suspect, shown in the pictures below.
