DASH Bus shatters record with 5.3 million riders, celebrates with block party

ALEXANDRIA, Va. ( DC News Now ) — In Alexandria, the DASH Bus is on the move, and officials are getting ready to celebrate a new milestone.

In August, DASH Bus announced that it broke the Fiscal Year 2024 record with 5.3 million riders, smashing the transportation’s 2023 record of 4.3 million.

The bus first hit the streets of Alexandria 40 years ago and has evolved and adapted its routes to help meet the community’s needs.

Now, officials are inviting community members to celebrate the new mark in history.

On Sept. 19, DASH Bus will host a block party at the William Ramsey Recreation Center. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., neighbors can join the fun.
