Woman fatally stabbed inside Southeast DC apartment

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police in D.C. are investigating after a woman was stabbed to death inside an apartment in the middle of the afternoon on Friday.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said officers responded to the complex in the 3800 block of South Capitol Street SE just before 4:30 p.m.

There, they found a woman who had been stabbed.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Friday afternoon, homicide unit investigators were still at the scene.

All of DC has murders and it was a lot worse in the 90s and 80s. But SE has not been super heavily gentrified like the rest of DC and still produces like 65-70% of the homicides.
