PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — College football is back in full swing this weekend. On Saturday, the University of Maryland Terrapins will host the UConn Huskies at College Park.

Some businesses are excited because game day weekend means more customers.

Samantha Cisnerus is a manager at Dog Haus. She said the hot dog and hamburger restaurant will have extra staff on hand.

“Right now, we have our chefs making extra sauces. Burger and chicken meat is made here and we have extra staff, who is here and who is fast so that’s a big deal,” she said. “We need staff because we know business will be busier.”

DC News Now spoke to some University of Maryland students who are excited about the return of football season. Sasha Sampaio and Talia Hirshman said the game means more than just football.

“It’s very exciting because everyone gets to come together and dress up and support our football team. And for the economy, it’s a great deal because everyone goes to get food before and after,” Sampaio said.

“I am really excited about the first game day Saturday. There are lots of events planned and I am excited to go out with my sorority sisters to support Maryland,” Hirshman said.

The Terps kick off at noon on Saturday against the UConn Huskies.
