Motorcyclist dies after crash in Hyattsville

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Hyattsville Police Department said it is investigating a deadly crash that killed a motorcyclist on Saturday afternoon.

In a post on X at about 3:30 p.m., the department said the accident, involving a car and a motorcycle, occurred in the 4300 block of East West Highway.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. Police said they are working to identify the victim.

On Saturday afternoon, Eastbound East West Highway was closed as police investigated.

In an update from the department shortly after 7 p.m., the accident had been cleared, and the area reopened.

This is like the 3rd or 4th motorcyclist dying in the past 2 months in this area. Please respect the motorcyclist on the road as cars, and you bikers need to drive more safely. I have an old shipmate with burns on 75% on his body. He was a motorcyclist that was hit by a car, crashed and set on fire. He survived and didn't want to medically discharge from the Navy. They made him a teacher. He was lucky, if you can call it that. You can't recognize how he used to look from the burns on his face and skull. Had like a patch of hair on his head left. Always positive. I always think of him whenever I see these reports. Please be safe yall. I know y'all love the ride, but we would love it if you were alive rn. And you assholes that attack motorcyclists and anyone else with your cars, your cowards and murders using cars as your weapons. You're going to hell.
