MSP breaks up illegal car meetups across Maryland, including Prince George’s County

PIKESVILLE, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Members of the Ma ryland State Police (MSP), Maryland Car Rally Task Force, the Baltimore Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) and other police agencies broke up 11 illegal exhibition driving events, or car meetups, in Baltimore, Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties on Saturday night.

Police responded to multiple locations where up to 200 people had gathered in the parking lot and reportedly attempted to shut down intersections in the area.

These are some of the locations and times:

• 10:40 p.m.: 5710 A Wabash Ave., Baltimore, Md.
• 11:10 p.m.:  2880-2894 Rolling Road, Windsor Mill, Md.
• 11:49 pm: 3030 Liberty Heights Ave., Baltimore, Md.
• 12:07a.m.:  1801 Washington Blvd, Baltimore, Md.
• 12:40 a.m.: N Eutaw at W. North Ave., Baltimore, Md.
• 12:34 a.m.: I-195 Park and Ride, Catonsville, Md.
• 1:40 a.m.:  7900 Governor Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, Md.
• 2:22 a.m.:  12705 Laurel-Bowie Road, Laurel, Md.
• 3:25 a.m.:  Konterra Drive and Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, Md.
• 3:30 a.m.:  I-95 at Ebenezer Road/Philadelphia Road, White Marsh, Md.
• 4:00 a.m.:  812A Oregon Ave., Linthicum Heights, Md.

Police arrested seven people and recovered a stolen vehicle as well as an illegal firearm.

According to MSP, those arrested and charged include:

20-year-old Daniel Linton of Port Deposit. He is being charged with assault on police, malicious destruction of property and related traffic offenses.

24-year-old Sh’Nard Martinez-Eric Pope of Baltimore, 19-year-old Chase Andrew Cover of Halethorpe and 22-year-old Alycia Destiny Cropper of Middle River were arrested and charged in connection to a stolen vehicle.

21-year-old Christian Thayn Dean, of Columbia, Md., was charged with disorderly conduct.

21-year-old William Starkey of Baltimore was charged with disorderly conduct.

33-year-old Marcellus Cortez Swann of Baltimore was arrested for a DUI and charged criminally for reportedly carrying a handgun while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
