    Hagerstown community pool closes out season with pooch plunge

    HAGERSTOWN, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The pooch plunge, an annual event most anticipated by dogs and their owners, closes out the summer season for the Potterfield Community Swimming Pool in Hagerstown’s south end neighborhood.

    The few hours in the water are very special for all who participate.

    “It’s a chance for the dogs to come out and take one fun splash before the end of summer,” Julie Draper with the Humane Society, said. “Owners love it, dogs love it and we have a great time watching.”

    The event has a $5 fee per dog which benefits the Humane Society of Washington County.

    If your dog missed the Potterfield Pool pooch plunge, the Martin Snook Community Pool in the south end of Washington County will host its pooch plunge this Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
