Kings Dominion releases plans for 50th Anniversary celebration

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Kings Dominion recently announced details for the park’s 50th anniversary celebration taking place in 2025.

According to a release, 2025 marks Kings Dominion’s 50th anniversary, and they plan to celebrate with live entertainment, new food offerings, special activities and the new Rapterra coaster.

People can expect entertainment that includes performances from the Singing Mushrooms in Candy Apple Grove, a roaming street party and the Kings Dominion Clown Band. The Kings Dominion Theater will also make an appearance with several family-friendly shows.

The fun won’t stop after the sun sets — International Street and the Eiffel tower will have a special effects and light show synchronized to a golden anniversary soundtrack.

The full lineup and entertainment schedule will be announced at a later date.

Visitors can also take a walk down memory lane, which will feature interactive artifacts from the park’s past. Exclusive 50th anniversary merchandise will also be available next year.

Those excited about Rapterra — which is predicted to be the world’s tallest and longest launched wing coaster — will have the chance to ride it during the 2025 season.
