    DC’s Doggy Day Swim 2024 being held at 4 pools

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Doggie Day Swim 2024 returns to D.C. this Saturday.

    The D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation and D.C. Health said Doggy Day Swim will be held on Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at four different pools around the District.

    Hagerstown community pool closes out season with pooch plunge

    These pools will be hosting Doggy Day Swim:

    • Francis Pool (2435 N Street NW)
    • Langdon Park Pool (2860 Mills Avenue NE)
    • Ridge Road Pool (830 Ridge Road SE)
    • Upshur Pool (4300 Arkansas Avenue NW)

    The event is free but attendees must register.

    All dogs must have a valid dog license and tag issued by D.C. Health. Photocopies will not be accepted.

    All dog owners will need to follow these rules during the event:

    • Dog handlers must be 16 years of age or older.
    • Dog handlers cannot swim or enter the pool with their dogs.
    • Dogs must be sociable and remain leashed while on the pool deck.
    • All dogs must be current on vaccinations including rabies and distemper.
    • All dogs must be spayed/neutered.
