    Police find nothing of ‘evidentiary value’ after searching new locations of interest in search for Mamta Kafle Bhatt

    MANASSAS PARK, Va. ( DC News Now ) — It’s been over a month since Manassas Park mom and nurse Mamta Kafle Bhatt disappeared, and detectives in Prince William County are expanding their search.

    On Thursday, the Manassas Park Police Department said the Prince William County Police Department’s Search and Rescue Team was combing through the following areas for evidence in connection to Bhatt’s disappearance; Blooms Crossing Community, the area surrounding Manassas Christian School, Camp Carondelet and a portion of Blooms Park.

    Police said detectives identified these areas as locations of interest through a methodical review of recently obtained records.

    On Thursday, several Prince William County police officers and detectives could be seen near the Manassas Park Christian Middle School, near the woods.

    In an update, Mario Lugo, Manassas Park Police Department’s chief of police, told DC News Now at 4:18 p.m. that the searches did not result in anything of “evidentiary value.”

    Bhatt was last seen on July 31, according to police.

    However, as the investigation into her disappearance continued, police arrested and charged her husband, Naresh Bhatt, 37, with prohibition Against Concealment of a Dead Body on Aug. 22.

    He is being held without bond.

    Court documents obtained by DC News Now in August alleged that Naresh killed his wife in their home before dragging her body out and hiding it.

    For several weeks, volunteers, friends and loved ones have continued to post flyers on trails and parks throughout the community in hopes of bringing Bhatt home.
